Ticks can transmit dangerous pathogens. Therefore, they should be removed as soon as possible after the bite with the Bogaclean Tick-Off tick hook .
Do not apply oil, nail polish or other liquids to the tick before the tick is removed, otherwise the tick can release dangerous pathogens into the bloodstream due to a stress reaction. After the tick removal, disinfect the puncture site. Place the removed tick in a folded piece of paper and crush with a firm object. The flushing down in cast/toilet does not kill the tick. Ticks are survivalists, even underwater.
