Every year on June 8, we celebrate World Ocean Day, a global day to raise awareness of the importance of our oceans and the need for their protection.

Why World Ocean Day is important

Our oceans cover over 70% of the Earth’s surface and are essential for life on Earth. They regulate the climate, provide us with oxygen and are an important source of food and employment. However, pollution, overfishing and climate change are putting our oceans under great pressure. It is crucial that we take steps to protect these valuable ecosystems.
